  • Full-time Join our team at Benevia Assisted Living as a Medication Technician / Caregiver, where your compassionate nature and attention to detail will make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents.
In this vital role, you will assist with medication administration, provide personalized care, and support residents' daily activities in assisted living, nursing home, or home care settings. Your expertise will help promote health, safety, and well-being for individuals with diverse needs, including those requiring memory care, hospice support, or specialized dementia care. This position offers an engaging environment where your skills in patient care and medical documentation are valued and essential for delivering exceptional service. Safely administer medications in accordance with physicians orders, state regulations, and community policies. Monitor residents for medication effectiveness and report concerns or changes to the Administrator or supervising nurse as required. Accurately document medication administration and resident observations per facility guidelines. Assist residents with daily activities including mobility support, personal hygiene, and toileting assistance. Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive environment in accordance with health and safety standards. Observe and report changes in residents' physical, cognitive, or emotional condition. Support residents with memory care needs by implementing tailored activities that promote cognitive engagement and emotional well-being Communicate respectfully and effectively with residents, families, and team members. Uphold HIPAA compliance, resident dignity, and confidentiality at all times. Support a home-like environment by assisting with light housekeeping, such as tidying common areas, laundry, dishwashing, and maintaining cleanliness in shared spaces Assist with simple meal preparation and light cooking, following planned menus and dietary needs Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred Knowledge of basic medication administration practices and safety procedures. Experience working with older adults, including those with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, is a plus. Ability to accurately administer medications as prescribed and document appropriately. Familiarity with basic electronic documentation or medication records (training provided if needed) Ability to assist with activities of daily living as needed (e.g., mobility support, toileting assistance) Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate, resident centered approach. Certification as a Medication Technician required (state approved). Reliable, professional, and able to work independently in a small, home like setting.
