Job Description

Small Assisted Living Community
  • 7a-3p
  • 3p-11p
  • 11p-7a
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must pass criminal background check
  • Minimum of one-year previous experience as a Med-Tech in an Assisted Living Community.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, residents, families, and the community
  • Must have the ability to remain calm under stressful situations
  • Administer medication to residents in accordance with doctors' orders and state regulations
  • Complete all required documentation such as but not limited to medication administration records, incident reports, change of condition reports, medication refusal reports, etc.
  • Must be readily able to assist CNA/PCA with residents care (ADL's) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, transferring, and mobility when needed for assistance.
  • Must have basic understanding of diabetes which includes diabetic medications, glucometer management, finger stick blood sugar testing, insulin administration and be able to act immediately if/when symptoms of hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia arise
  • Responsible for observing residents for changes in physical, emotional, mental health, etc. such as, unusual symptoms, medication side effects, accidents, injuries or unusual behavior
  • Responsible for proper management of narcotic medications to include but not limited to ordering, dispensing, documenting, maintaining, storage, etc.
