Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medication Aide to join our team in providing exceptional care to our residents. The Weekend Warrior works every Friday, Saturday and Sunday with every 6th weekend off. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safe administration of medications and supporting the overall well-being of patients in an assisted living environment. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and patient care, as well as the ability to maintain accurate medical records. Responsibilities Administer medications to residents according to prescribed schedules and protocols. Monitor patients for any adverse reactions or side effects from medications and report findings to nursing staff. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Assist with daily living activities, providing compassionate care and support to enhance residents' quality of life. Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. Ensure a clean and safe environment for residents by adhering to health and safety regulations. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with best practices in medication administration and patient care. Skills Strong knowledge of medication administration procedures and medical terminology. Proficient in maintaining medical records and utilizing electronic health record systems, such as Cerner. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. Ability to provide compassionate care while respecting the dignity of each resident. Familiarity with home community care practices is preferred but not required. Experience in assisted living or home care settings is advantageous. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of patient care.
