Duties & Responsibilities:
Administer medications as ordered by the attending physician, under direction of the attending physician and licensed nurse in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. Follow established pharmacy policies and procedures in administering medications and narcotics. Ensure that no medication is administered without a written, signed, dated order from an attending licensed practitioner. Provide accurate and timely documentation of scheduled and PRN medications. Perform controlled substance count at the beginning and end of each shift worked. Complete and sign the Narcotic Book. Immediately report any discrepancies to the nursing supervisor. Assist residents with dressing/undressing, daily dental/mouth care, eye/ear care, bowel and bladder functions, hair/nail care and daily bathing/skin care functions. Accurately document daily care delivered on the LNA flow sheet. Provide other accurate and timely documentation as requested for bladder diaries, resident weights and meal and fluid intakes. Provide restorative care following residents care plan. Document and report resident abilities and progress toward goal achievement. Assist residents to ambulate with or without self-help devices as instructed.
Experience:
LNA - 2+ years MNA - 1 year (preferred)
