Medication Technician / Life Skills Instructor

  • Part-time, Full-time About the Role We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Life Skills Instructor (TBI) to support individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) through structured, skills-based instruction.
This role focuses on helping residents build independence, strengthen cognitive functioning, and develop consistent daily routines using brain-injury-informed and person-centered approaches. You will work closely with the interdisciplinary team to deliver curriculum-based instruction, reinforce individualized goals, and promote meaningful progress in a supportive environment. Key ResponsibilitiesLife Skills Instruction Provide structured 1:1 and small-group training using an approved TBI life skills curriculum Support residents in developing: Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) Independent living skills (IADLs) Cognitive organization and memory strategies Executive functioning, task initiation, and sequencing Community integration and safety awareness Reinforce routines, compensatory strategies, and behavior supports Promote independence and skill generalization across settings Observation & Reporting Observe resident performance and engagement during daily activities Communicate progress, concerns, and changes in functioning to leadership Report behavioral or cognitive changes promptly Documentation & Compliance Complete accurate and timely documentation in accordance with company and regulatory standards Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality Follow all documentation protocols for instructional services Safety & Crisis Awareness Utilize CPI techniques for de-escalation within scope of training Follow incident reporting and escalation protocols Maintain a structured, safe, and respectful environment Team Collaboration Collaborate with supervisors and interdisciplinary team members Participate in trainings, meetings, and program activities Travel between program locations and community settings as needed QualificationsRequired High School Diploma or GED Minimum 1 years of experience working with individuals with TBI or similar cognitive/neurological conditions Experience providing direct care or structured instruction in 1:1 or small-group settings Strong communication and documentation skills Ability to follow structured instructional plans Reliable transportation and ability to travel between locations Required Certifications (Can Be Obtained After Hire) Medication Technician Certification (within 3 months) CPI Certification (within 3 months) Fundamentals of Brain Injury Certification (within 6 months) Completion of all required background checks, TB testing, and onboarding requirements What We're Looking For Understanding of brain-injury-informed and person-centered care Ability to maintain structured routines and support cognitive skill-building Strong observational and reporting skills Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to resident success Professional, patient, and safety-focused approach Why Join Us?
