Position Summary The Resident Care Supervisor is responsible for overseeing resident care services during assigned shifts, administering medications, supervising Resident Assistants, and ensuring residents receive safe, compassionate, and individualized care. This position serves as a key clinical leader, helping maintain a positive environment for residents while supporting staff and communicating effectively with families and healthcare providers. Responsibilities Administer and supervise medications in accordance with physician orders and facility policies. Monitor and support Resident Assistants in providing high-quality personal care services. Observe residents and promptly report changes in condition to the Resident Care Manager. Maintain accurate clinical documentation, including medication administration records and case notes. Assist with direct resident care when needed. Ensure resident rights, dignity, preferences, and independence are respected at all times. Manage controlled medications and maintain proper medication storage procedures. Complete incident and accident reports and provide first aid when necessary. Participate in shift reports and communicate resident needs effectively. Assist with staffing, resident care concerns, and problem-solving during assigned shifts. Support quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance. Foster a positive, team-oriented culture focused on exceptional resident care.
QualificationsRequired:
Current New York State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, and team members. Commitment to compassionate, resident-centered care.
Preferred:
At least one year of nursing leadership or supervisory experience. Experience working with older adults in assisted living, long-term care, memory care, or geriatric settings. Assist with resident mobility and wheelchair transportation. Stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and respond quickly in emergency situations. Utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE).
