In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the health, safety, and well-being of residents by ensuring the safe and accurate administration of medications in a supportive, team-focused environment. Position Overview The Medication Technician is responsible for administering prescribed medications to residents in accordance with physician orders, agency policies, and regulatory requirements. The Med Tech works collaboratively with nursing, clinical, and residential staff to promote medication compliance, monitor resident wellness, and support high-quality resident-centered care. Summary of Responsibilities Administer medications safely and accurately according to physician orders and established protocols Maintain accurate Medication Administration Records (MARs) and related documentation Monitor residents for side effects, adverse reactions, or changes in condition and promptly communicate concerns to nursing staff Assist with medication storage, inventory management, and compliance audits Collaborate effectively with nurses, clinicians, and residential staff regarding resident care and treatment needs Support residents in understanding their medications and treatment plans when appropriate Maintain confidentiality and protect resident information in compliance with HIPAA standards Ensure medication rooms and administration areas remain clean, organized, and safe Respond appropriately during medical emergencies and follow established procedures Participate as a collaborative member of the treatment team Perform additional duties as assigned

  • 11pm Qualifications Required High School Diploma or equivalent Certified Medication Technician (CMT) or Approved Medication Administration Personnel (AMAP) certification CPR and First Aid certification Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint Preferred Previous experience in residential treatment, behavioral health, healthcare, or a related setting Skills & Competencies Knowledge of medication administration procedures and basic pharmacology Understanding of medical terminology Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to remain calm, professional, and effective in high-pressure situations Commitment to teamwork and resident-centered care Strong understanding of professional ethics, boundaries, and confidentiality practices
