What You'll Be Doing (And Absolutely Rocking): Delivering medications with care, accuracy, and kindness—under the delegation of a nurse Following orders to a T—oral, topical, inhalers, eye/ear/nose drops, rectal and vaginal meds… you name it, you handle it Documenting like a pro: time, dosage, method, and anything out of the ordinary Practicing infection control like it's second nature (because it is) Knowing when to take vitals and when to hit pause on meds Communicating concerns, refusals, and reactions to the Charge Nurse immediately Treating every resident like family—because they are
What You Won't Be Doing:
No injections, IVs, feeding tubes, or Schedule II meds No changing or writing med orders—you're not the doctor, and that's okay No giving PRNs unless a nurse gives the green light No delegating—this is your responsibility, and you own it
What Makes You Apparently Remarkable:
You're a Certified Medication Aide (MA-C) in Ohio You've got long-term care experience and a deep understanding of the responsibility that comes with this role You're comfortable juggling multiple tasks and staying calm in unpredictable situations You take privacy, professionalism, and accuracy seriously—because that's what our residents deserve You know how to communicate with a team and when to speak up for a resident
The Essentials:
Must have a current-year medication reference book with you (yes, it's part of your uniform) Must maintain a clean, professional appearance—uniform, name badge, and title displayed proudly Must be able to walk, stand, bend, lift, and respond quickly throughout your shift Why Bel Air?
