CMA Tulsa Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare Chandler, OK 74834 Full-time Full-time Here is a professional job description for the "CMA" position: Certified Medication Aide (CMA) 7A-7P Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our team at Tulsa Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare in Chandler, OK. As a Certified Medication Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by administering daily medications under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. Responsibilities Deliver routine daily oral, inhalation, and topical medications to residents under direct supervision of licensed nursing staff Observe for any adverse drug reactions and report any problems to the nurse Record medication administration according to company policies and procedures Perform tasks associated with medication administration, including vital signs, medication dose calculations, stocking of medication carts, and removal of discontinued medications Practice safe handling and storage of medications Respond to resident requests and other direct care duties as assigned Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Must be a certified nursing assistant (CNA) Must have medication aide certification Minimum of 1 year of healthcare industry experience or 2 years' experience as a medication aide Good understanding of medical and pharmacological terminology Current CPR certification Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public Personal Skills and Traits Desired Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion Strong attention to detail and ability to follow policies and procedures Ability to provide compassionate and respectful care to residents Ability to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary Working Conditions May be subject to falls, burns from equipment, and/or odors throughout the day Encounter reactions from dust, tobacco smoke, disinfectants, and other air contaminants May be subject to hostile or emotional residents, family members, visitors, or personnel Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday Must be able to assist in evacuation of residents during emergency situations Compliance as a Condition of Employment and Performance Appraisal Agreement to abide by all standards, policies, and procedures of the facility, including the facility's compliance and ethics program, is a condition of employment Compliance will be a factor in evaluating job performance Violations, including failure to report violations, will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination Equal Opportunity Employer Statement We are an equal opportunity employer.
