The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments, with a strong focus on patient-centered care for seniors and individuals with disabilities. The CMA will be responsible for administering medications, monitoring patient health, and supporting overall wellness in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards such as HIPAA. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents and patients across various care settings, including memory care, hospice, and acute care environments. Responsibilities Administer prescribed medications accurately following physician orders and established protocols Monitor and record vital signs, medication effects, and patient responses Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, mobility, and feeding assistance Maintain detailed medical documentation using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality Support patients with specialized needs such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, or tube feeding Assist in the management of medical records and ensure proper documentation of medication administration Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition promptly and effectively Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care Follow infection control procedures and maintain a clean, safe environment for residents and staff Qualifications Valid Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification required Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospital, or home care settings preferred Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and nursing practices Experience working with people with developmental disabilities or those requiring specialized dementia or Alzheimer's care is a plus Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards Excellent communication skills and compassionate approach to caregiving Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail Must be able to work flexible hours as needed; some positions may require shift work including evenings or weekends This position is integral to providing high-quality patient care within a respectful and supportive environment.
