Overview We are currently seeking a caring and reliable Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join a well-established clinical team. Responsibilities Administer prescribed medications to residents in accordance with physician orders, facility policies, and state regulations. Accurately document medication administration and maintain medication records. Observe residents for medication effectiveness, side effects, and adverse reactions, promptly reporting concerns to licensed nursing staff. Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support as needed. Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates. Support nursing staff with routine clinical tasks and resident care activities. Ensure medication carts, storage areas, and treatment supplies are maintained in a clean, organized, and secure manner. Provide compassionate emotional support and reassurance to residents and their families. Follow individualized care plans and communicate any changes in resident condition to supervising nurses. Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and continuing education to maintain certification and stay current on best practices. Required Skills Current certification as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA), Certified Medication Technician (CMT), or equivalent credential, as required by state regulations. Knowledge of medication administration procedures and documentation requirements. Compassionate and resident-focused approach to care. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate records. Basic understanding of medical terminology and healthcare procedures. Flexibility to work scheduled hours, including nights and weekends as needed. Proven reliability, professionalism, and strong attention to detail. Nice-to-Have Skills Experience working in a long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or assisted living setting. Additional certifications such as CPR, First Aid, or specialized patient care training. Experience administering insulin and other routine medications. Bilingual abilities to support diverse resident populations. Preferred Education and Experience High school diploma or GED equivalent. Prior experience as a Certified Medication Aide, Medication Technician, CNA with medication administration responsibilities, or related healthcare support role preferred.
Other Requirements Schedule:
Sunday through Tuesday, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, totaling 36 hours per week. Physical ability to assist with resident transfers, repositioning, and other care-related tasks. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods. Medication administration certification required. Experience with insulin administration is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is a plus. Apply For This Job
