  • PRN Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medication Aide to join our healthcare team.
In this vital role, you will assist in providing safe, effective medication administration and support to residents across assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, and community care settings. Your expertise will help ensure residents receive personalized care that promotes their well-being, dignity, and independence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse medical needs, including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer's, and other complex conditions. You will work closely with nursing staff and healthcare providers to deliver high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment that values professionalism and compassion. Responsibilities Safely administer prescribed medications to residents according to physician orders and facility protocols Monitor residents' vital signs and overall health status during medication rounds Assist with specialized care procedures such as tube feeding, catheter care, and hospice support Document medication administration and patient responses accurately using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality Support nursing staff by updating medical records with detailed notes on medication effects and patient condition Provide compassionate caregiving tailored to individual needs, including memory care, dementia care, and senior care Assist residents with activities of daily living while promoting independence and dignity Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop personalized care plans for residents with disabilities or complex medical conditions Ensure a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards Experience Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments Familiarity with medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and patient care procedures Prior experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner is highly desirable Knowledge of medication administration techniques including tube feeding and catheter care Experience caring for individuals with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other memory impairments Background in hospice or palliative care is a plus Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards Ability to work effectively with individuals who have developmental disabilities or require specialized support Excellent communication skills combined with a caring attitude that fosters trust and comfort Join us in delivering exceptional care that transforms lives!
