Overview:
Sentara is hiring a Full-time Pharmacy Technician II for our Central Medication Refill Program.
Location:
Remote. Must reside in Virginia.
Status:
Full-Time (40 hours/week)
Shift:
Days (Anticipated Mon-Fri)
Hours:
7:30AM-4:00PM or 8:00AM-4:30PM The Pharmacy Tech II performs the technician responsibilities in specialized areas of pharmacy practice under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner. Triages, manages, and processes incoming medication refill requests from pharmacies, patients, and providers accurately and within established turnaround times to support continuity of patient care. Provides pharmacists and providers with relevant clinical and administrative information by performing accurate and efficient chart reviews while identifying, documenting, and communicating discrepancies or failed protocols requiring escalation. Triages and escalates questions, clinical concerns, or issues outside the pharmacy technician scope of practice to the appropriate pharmacist, provider, or care team member. Maintains quality assurance according to departmental standards, legal requirements, and medication refill program expectations. Communicates effectively and collaborates with fellow pharmacy technicians, pharmacists, providers, and interdisciplinary care team members in a primarily electronic workflow environment. Demonstrates advanced technical skills, ownership of medication refill workflows, strong attention to detail, organization, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently within defined centralized pharmacy technician responsibilities. Participates in onboarding, training, and support of new employees as assigned. In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned. A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice. Education High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required) Certification/Licensure Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required) CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Required) Experience 2 Years Pharmacy Experience (Required)
