Salary:
$18.00 Hourly SUMMARY Assist nursing/medical staff with Prescription Assistance Program using Med Data Services. Assist in main pharmacy with the filling and processing of prescriptions. as needed during absences of other pharmacy technicians.
RESPONSIBILITIES
 include the following: The following duties are normal for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Reviews and enters patient demographics and income information. Reviews Nextgen electronic health record information to aid in patient service. Meets with patients to explain options for obtaining free or discounted medications. Reviews patient's current medications with provider/nurses. Enters all drug information into computer application as prescribed by ordering physician. Prints all applications and prepares for physician's signature. Tracks medications in MedData as they are received and distributed. Runs and reviews reports to determine refills. Stays current on changes in TennCare pharmacy benefits and pharmaceutical company programs. Assist pharmacists with daily filling and processing of prescriptions using Rx30 software system. Processes ward stock orders for outlying clinics. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:
TN Licensure/Registration required; Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred 1-2 years of experience in retail pharmacy with knowledge of third-party processing preferred
Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of third-party insurance processing preferred.
Computer Skills:
 To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Word Processing software.
Communication Skills:
Must possess the ability to communicate verbally and non-verbally with clients, coworkers, and members of management. Excellent professional customer service skills required.
