We are currently seeking a dedicated and dependable Medication Aide to join our skilled nursing facility team. The ideal candidate is caring, detail-oriented, and committed to providing safe, high-quality care to our residents. As a Medication Aide, you will assist with administering medications under the supervision of licensed nursing staff while ensuring compliance with state regulations, facility policies, and resident care standards.
Responsibilities:
Administer medications accurately and safely as ordered by physicians Observe and document medication administration and resident responses Report medication errors, refusals, reactions, or concerns immediately Monitor and record vital signs as assigned Maintain accurate medication records and documentation Follow all infection control, safety, and HIPAA guidelines Assist with medication storage, labeling, and disposal procedures Work closely with nurses, physicians, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary team members Participate in Quality Assurance and continuing education programs Support residents with professionalism, dignity, and compassion
Qualifications:
Current Medication Aide certification/license required High school diploma or equivalent required Previous experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred Knowledge of medication administration procedures and medical terminology Strong communication and documentation skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs occasionally Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations Comfortable working in a healthcare environment Why Join Us?
