In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing customized medications through compounding processes, ensuring precise formulation and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise will directly impact patient care by providing high-quality compounded medications tailored to individual needs. Responsibilities Prepare compounded medications with precision, following established protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure safety and efficacy. Assist in medication intake procedures, verifying prescriptions and ensuring accurate medication orders for patients in acute care and hospital environments. Maintain strict compliance with medical terminology standards and pharmacy regulations during all compounding activities. Support patient care by preparing IV infusions and other sterile medications for critical care, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and documentation. Collaborate with pharmacy staff to manage medication inventory, monitor expiration dates, and ensure availability of necessary supplies for compounding. Follow all safety protocols related to aseptic technique, infection control, and handling hazardous materials within the pharmacy setting. Document all compounding activities thoroughly, including batch records, quality checks, and incident reports as required by regulatory agencies. Skills Excellent patient service skills with a focus on patient care and safety. Proficiency in medical terminology relevant to pharmacy operations and medication administration. Hands-on experience with pharmacy technician duties, including medication preparation and inventory management. Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining high standards of aseptic technique.
