In this vital role, you will assist with medication administration and patient care, ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of our residents. You will work closely with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, and home care environments. Your expertise will help improve the quality of life for individuals with diverse needs, including those with memory care requirements or disabilities. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day. Responsibilities Safely administer prescribed medications to residents following all state healthcare regulations and HIPAA privacy standards Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to assess patient health status Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, mobility, and feeding, especially in memory care or hospice settings Document medication administration and patient responses accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner Support patients with specialized needs such as tube feeding, catheter care, or mobility challenges through manual handling techniques Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition, providing first aid or basic life support (CPR) when necessary Maintain thorough medical records in compliance with HIPAA and state regulations while ensuring confidentiality at all times Requirements Valid certification as a Medication Aide (state-specific) with active registration through the State Board of Nursing Proven experience working with geriatric patients in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and common medical procedures such as tube feeding and catheter care Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation of patient care activities Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform manual handling tasks required for patient mobility assistance Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach toward individuals with disabilities or memory impairments such as Alzheimer's or dementia Current certifications in CPR and First Aid from recognized organizations; ongoing training preferred Understanding of HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws to ensure compliance in all aspects of patient care Join us to be part of a vibrant team committed to delivering exceptional senior care!
