Certified Medication Aide (CMA)

Full-time Responsibilities:
- Administer prescribed medication according to Company policies and procedures to the residents.
- Document the administered medication in the resident's clinical record.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
- Record and count all medications upon resident's admission, transfer, discharge, or on leave and at shift change for controlled drugs.
- Re-stock and order medications as necessary, as per company policies and procedures.
- Perform restorative and rehabilitative procedures as instructed.
- Be in constant touch with the resident's family, physician, and supervisor for any changes in the resident's condition.
- Participate in the admission, transfer and discharge of residents as required.
- Schedule appointments and coordinate patient referrals
- Provide patient education on medical conditions, treatments, and medications
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant
- Must be a licensed Certified Medication Aide in accordance with the laws of Texas.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and knowledge of human anatomy and physiology
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems.
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, healthcare providers, families and other staff members
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities effectively
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and patient information
