Certified Medication Aide (CMA)

  • Full-time Responsibilities:
  • Administer prescribed medication according to Company policies and procedures to the residents.
  • Document the administered medication in the resident's clinical record.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
  • Record and count all medications upon resident's admission, transfer, discharge, or on leave and at shift change for controlled drugs.
  • Re-stock and order medications as necessary, as per company policies and procedures.
  • Perform restorative and rehabilitative procedures as instructed.
  • Be in constant touch with the resident's family, physician, and supervisor for any changes in the resident's condition.
  • Participate in the admission, transfer and discharge of residents as required.
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate patient referrals
  • Provide patient education on medical conditions, treatments, and medications
Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant
  • Must be a licensed Certified Medication Aide in accordance with the laws of Texas.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and knowledge of human anatomy and physiology
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems.
Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, healthcare providers, families and other staff members
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities effectively
  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and patient information
