Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Certified Medication Aide, where your expertise will directly enhance the quality of life for residents in assisted living, nursing homes, and home care settings. In this vital role, you will administer medications, monitor patient health, and provide compassionate support to individuals with diverse needs, including those with Alzheimer's, dementia, or disabilities. Your skills will ensure safe medication management and personalized care that promotes dignity and independence. Responsibilities Safely administer prescribed medications to residents or patients in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols Monitor vital signs, observe for adverse reactions, and document patient responses accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, mobility, and feeding support, especially for individuals with memory or mobility impairments Maintain detailed medical documentation adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and compliance Support specialized care needs such as tube feeding, catheter care, and hospice or palliative care services Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans Ensure all medication administration procedures follow safety standards and proper medical terminology understanding Skills Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home & community care environments Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medication protocols Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation and record keeping Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or memory care needs Ability to perform vital signs assessment and basic nursing procedures such as catheter care and tube feeding Excellent caregiving skills combined with compassionate communication tailored to seniors and individuals with disabilities Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to protect patient privacy and medical records confidentiality Embark on a rewarding career where your skills foster health, independence, and well-being for those who need it most.
