Bayou Pines Care Center is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our compassionate team. The CMA will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications to our residents, while also providing support in their daily care needs.Key Responsibilities:
- Administer medications to residents as prescribed by healthcare providers, following established protocols and guidelines.
- Monitor residents for any side effects or adverse reactions to medications and report findings to nursing staff promptly.
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mobility, and meal assistance, as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medication administration records (MAR) and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate residents and their families about medications, including purpose, dosage, and potential side effects.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment by adhering to infection control practices and safety protocols.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Medication Aide in the state of Texas.
- Current certification as a CNA in the state of Texas.
- Previous experience in a long-term care or healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, including lifting and moving residents.
