Bayou Pines Care Center is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our compassionate team. The CMA will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications to our residents, while also providing support in their daily care needs.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer medications to residents as prescribed by healthcare providers, following established protocols and guidelines.
  • Monitor residents for any side effects or adverse reactions to medications and report findings to nursing staff promptly.
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mobility, and meal assistance, as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medication administration records (MAR) and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Educate residents and their families about medications, including purpose, dosage, and potential side effects.
  • Ensure a clean and safe environment by adhering to infection control practices and safety protocols.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
  • Current certification as a Medication Aide in the state of Texas.
  • Current certification as a CNA in the state of Texas.
  • Previous experience in a long-term care or healthcare setting preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, including lifting and moving residents.
