Job Description
Job Summary Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA), working Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate medication administration and direct patient care within assisted living, nursing home, or home care settings. Your expertise will help enhance the quality of life for seniors and individuals with disabilities, ensuring they receive respectful, personalized care in a safe and supportive environment. Duties Administer prescribed medications accurately according to physician orders while adhering to HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards. Monitor and record vital signs, medication effects, and patient responses using
PCC, EMR
(Electronic Medical Record) or EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Assist residents with activities of daily living, including mobility support, hygiene, and feeding, especially in memory care or dementia care settings. Provide specialized care such as catheter care, tube feeding, and hospice support as needed. Maintain detailed medical records and ensure compliance with healthcare protocols related to anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. Support patients' emotional well-being through compassionate caregiving, fostering a warm environment for those with Alzheimer's or other cognitive impairments. Experience Valid certification as a Medication Aide or Certified Medication Technician (CMT). Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred. Familiarity with medical documentation practices and EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medication administration procedures. Experience caring for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory-related conditions is a strong plus. Background working with people with disabilities or in hospice and senior care settings demonstrates your versatility and dedication to comprehensive patient support.
