a Certification by the State of Texas for Medication Aide This position alsoREQUIRES
you to be Certified as a Nurse Aide as wellSALARY IS BASED ON EXPERIENCE
Medication Aide Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Accurately & safely prepare, administer and document the oral and/or topical medications that are commonly used in this facility and that may be ordered for resident use by the Attending Physician or by the Medical Director
- Verify that the medication brought into the facility by a newly admitted resident are examined and identified by the Attending Physician or the facility pharmacy or pharmacist
- Follow the labeling policies and practice of the facility
- Ensure that all medications administered are properly labeled
- Follow facility procedures in regard to the charting of medications
- Follow the medication card practices of the facility
- Follow established guidelines concerning the storage of drugs and biologicals
Medication Aide Requirements:
- State certification as a nursing assistant
- State certification as a Medication Aide
- Must be able to function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel and support agencies
- Highly developed observation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Walk in applicants welcome during normal business hours
