Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our Behavioral Health team. The CMA will be responsible for administering medications safely and accurately while supporting individuals receiving mental health and behavioral health services. This role plays a critical part in ensuring continuity of care, patient safety, and therapeutic support. Key Responsibilities Administer prescribed medications to patients according to physician orders and facility policies Accurately document medication administration and report any errors or adverse reactions immediately Observe and report changes in patient condition, behavior, or side effects Support nursing staff with patient care activities as directed Follow all state regulations, infection control standards, and HIPAA requirements Provide compassionate interaction and emotional support to patients Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment Assist with medication inventory and storage compliance Qualifications Current Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification (state-approved) High school diploma or GED required Experience in a behavioral health, mental health, or residential care setting preferred Knowledge of psychotropic medications strongly preferred Current CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire) Ability to work effectively with individuals experiencing mental health challenges Strong attention to detail and documentation skills Skills & Competencies Calm, empathetic, and professional demeanor Ability to follow medication protocols precisely Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to manage challenging behaviors safely and respectfully Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated
Pay:
$23.00 per hour
