Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medication Aide to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assist in providing safe, effective medication management and patient care within assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care settings. Your expertise will support residents and patients in maintaining their health, dignity, and independence. Responsibilities Administer prescribed medications accurately following physician orders and established protocols Monitor and record vital signs, medication effects, and patient responses using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including mobility support, catheter care, tube feeding, and hygiene assistance Maintain detailed medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure accuracy in medical records Observe and report changes in patient condition or behavior, especially for residents with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia Support nursing staff by preparing medication supplies and ensuring proper storage according to safety standards Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care plans and ensure seamless communication across departments Requirements Valid certification as a Medication Aide or Certified Medication Aide (CMA) recognized by state licensing boards Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medication administration procedures Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for documentation and patient record management Experience caring for individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or memory impairments is highly desirable Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including seniors and people with disabilities Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to caregiving Join our team where your skills will directly impact the well-being of those we serve!
