Certified Medication Aide (CMA)

Whitney Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a dependable Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our clinical team. Our 88-bed facility focuses on organized shift management and structured medication administration protocols. In this role, you will work directly alongside charge nurses to maintain accurate records and ensure resident safety.

Schedule:

Full-Time, 2pm-10pm (rotating schedule)

Responsibilities Administer prescribed medications and topical treatments according to physician orders and Texas state regulations. Monitor resident vital signs prior to administering specific medications and report deviations to the supervising nurse. Document medication administration accurately in the electronic medical record system immediately following delivery. Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and security of the medication cart. Observe residents for adverse drug reactions or side effects and notify clinical leadership of changes in status. Assist certified nursing assistants with direct resident care routines when medication passes are complete. Atmosphere & Environment The clinical setting at Whitney Nursing and Rehabilitation centers on a manageable 88-bed layout located at 101 S San Marcos St. The facility utilizes a systematic rotation system to distribute duties evenly across the floor. This structural approach ensures that clinical supplies remain stocked and medication carts are uniformly organized for every shift change. Qualifications & Requirements Active Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification in good standing with the state of Texas. Current Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification (required per state regulations for medication aides). Must pass a criminal background check. Must be able to pass a drug screening.
