Job Description

Job Overview Join our compassionate healthcare team as a Medication Technician/Caregiver, where your dedication will directly enhance the quality of life for individuals in assisted living, nursing homes, and home care settings. In this vital role, you will assist residents with daily activities, administer medications accurately, and provide personalized care that promotes independence and dignity. Your energetic and positive approach will help create a warm, supportive environment for those in need of specialized care, including seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, and those requiring memory or hospice care. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while developing your skills in a dynamic healthcare setting. Duties Safely administer prescribed medications following all HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Monitor vital signs and record medical information accurately to ensure ongoing patient care and safety. Assist residents with daily activities including mobility support, personal hygiene, and feeding, including tube feeding when necessary. Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory impairments through tailored activities and attentive support. Support nursing staff by maintaining detailed medical records, documenting medication administration, and updating patient charts in compliance with healthcare protocols. Perform catheter care, wound management, and other clinical tasks under supervision to ensure comfort and health. Engage with residents to promote social interaction and emotional well-being while respecting their privacy and dignity. Requirements Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medication administration procedures. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner is advantageous. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or those requiring dementia or hospice care is a plus. Ability to accurately measure vital signs and perform basic clinical tasks like tube feeding and catheter care. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Compassionate attitude combined with excellent communication skills to connect effectively with residents of diverse backgrounds. Certification as a Medication Technician or similar credential is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain necessary certifications is encouraged.
