Second Shift Medication Aide

Responsibilities Safely administer prescribed medications to residents following all protocols and physician orders, including oral, topical, and injectable medications. Monitor residents' vital signs and observe for any adverse reactions or changes in condition, documenting findings accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, mobility, and feeding, with special attention to Alzheimer's care and dementia-related needs. Maintain detailed medical documentation and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Support residents during tube feeding procedures and catheter care, adhering strictly to safety standards and best practices. Collaborate with nursing staff to update medical records, track medication schedules, and report any concerns or changes in resident health status. Provide compassionate care for individuals with developmental disabilities or those requiring hospice or memory care services during evening shifts. Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology, physiology, anatomy knowledge, and medical documentation practices enhances your ability to deliver excellent patient care. Experience using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner is advantageous for maintaining accurate records efficiently. Knowledge of medication administration protocols, vital signs measurement, and tube feeding procedures is essential. Previous caregiving roles involving seniors or individuals with disabilities will help you excel in this position. Certification as a medication aide or nursing assistant (CNA) is required; additional certifications in hospice or dementia care are a plus.
