BEHAVIORAL TRAINER

GENERAL INFORMATION
The behavioral trainer will assist Behavior Analysts by providing teachers and paraprofessionals with a thorough understanding of behavior analytic principles through the use of hands-on training. The behavior trainer will assist students who display severely aggressive behavior in the classroom. The duties include but are not limited to: Assists with training teachers and paraprofessionals on behavior analytic techniques using competency based training. Collects, enters and graphs reduction and acquisition data of target behavior. Assists with implementing Individualized Education Plans and Behavior Intervention Plans. Assists with the completion of Functional Behavioral Assessments. Participates in Physical Crisis Management when students engage in dangerous behaviors. All other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education, which may be accomplished by documented successful completion of 48 semester hours at a regionally accredited institution of higher education; OR Must have obtained an associate's degree, which may be accomplished by documented successful completion of 64 semester hours at a regionally accredited institution of higher education. Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience working with the special needs population. Preferred knowledge in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis. Must have excellent communication and public speaking skills. Must have good organization and time management skills. Must participate in Physical Crisis Management when students engage in dangerous behaviors. Duty Days 187
Salary Range:
From/To Beginning pay - $25,626.00 Additional Job Information •Applicants selected for classified positions must undergo (or have undergone) an ABI/FBI criminal history background check (fingerprinting administered through sites selected and approved by the MCPSS and State of Alabama Education Department) and be declared suitable and fit to teach under state law. Applicants selected must also pass a drug-screening test via forms provided by Human Resources during the selection process.•
