Job Description

The B.H.T. is responsible for monitoring and documenting activities of clients while at the facility. If you are a self-starter capable of taking initiative to analytically solve problems through deductive methods (meaning you can take critical information and figure out the rest by using mental initiative), this role will interest you. This role will also be enjoyed if you like to multi-task, work in a quick paced and rapid environment, and do well when there are tight deadlines. It is valuable to be polite and courteous because you will be communicating important technical information and processes, but there is not a need to be proactively social. If you like to become a subject matter expert who takes that knowledge and skill sets to bring tremendous value within a competitive and high energy environment, we would like to speak with you. This role will challenge you to learn and grow.
Job Duties:
Provide supervision and support (emotional and physical) to clients at the treatment center(s). Provide detailed documentation related to client behavior and actions. Conduct random urinalysis drug testing as outlined in Horizon Recovery's policies and procedures. Assist with self-administration of medication for the clients. Report on and monitor clients' behavior. Offer clients guidance about recovery using practical recovery models. Collect and maintain accurate records of client activities, behavior, and information pertinent to each client's progress in treatment, while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with families, educators, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to each client's care. Report any unusual behavior, suspicious activity or any significant event to the House Supervisor. Assist in crisis management situations by employing de-escalation techniques and ensuring the safety of all individuals involved. Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere strictly to confidentiality requirements. Adhere to established standards of hygiene and universal infection control procedures in handling all food, samples and supplies. Maintain cleanliness of the facility according to infection prevention and control procedures. Drive clients to school and outpatient treatment sessions as needed, using company vehicles. Comply with all Horizon Recovery policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Job Specifications:
High school diploma or GED. Previous experience working directly with people in a service-oriented field is preferred. Minimum 6 months prior work experience in behavioral health. Candidates should have at least 6 months of experience working with adolescents or be willing to complete our provided adolescent training courses. Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of client information. Understanding of and adherence to Behavioral Health Best Practices. Knowledge of relevant recovery-related literature and principles. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with families and team members. Ability to manage crisis situations calmly and effectively. Valid driver's license with an acceptable MVR score. 21 years of age or older. Successfully pass a criminal background check. Possess, or have the ability to obtain, a Level One Fingerprint Card. Ability to set priorities, maintain accurate medical records on each client in accordance with the master treatment plan goals and Horizon Recovery's policy and procedures. Ability to accurately navigate electronic medical records to produce detailed, timely and accurate documentation. Ability to provide specific documentation and reports to clinical staff when required. Employee must be prepared to work at any location as required by the company needs.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to walk, bend, stand, climb stairs, speak English, hear, use a telephone, drive an automobile, and operate standard office equipment, such as a computer, copier, scanner and fax machine.
