JOB DESCRIPTION
To assist professional staff members by performing a variety of tasks related to the operation of classrooms or other instructional areas.
QUALIFICATIONS
Level One fingerprint clearance card. Two years of study at an institution of higher education, as evidenced by four semesters of college, with 12 or more credits per semester; or an associate's (or higher) degree; or high school diploma or equivalent including successfully passing an academic assessment in the areas of reading, writing, and mathematics. Some experience working with children in an educational setting preferred. Basic knowledge of computer programs is desired.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain high expectations for all students. Conduct individual and group intervention that aligns with student needs. Observe and assist individual students experiencing difficulties and distribute and collect forms. Maintain positive and effective classroom management procedures in compliance with school and district guidelines. Attend training to support the implementation of appropriate and effective behavior management techniques and strategies. Monitor groups of students engaged in study activities and adjust support based on data and individual student needs. Maintain appropriate and up-to-date student records pertaining to attendance, behavior, and other required documentation. Maintain confidentiality of all pupil information in accordance with District Policies. Support character development program and a positive self-esteem in alignment with social-emotional initiative. Perform other duties as assigned.
SALARY:
Full-Time Nine-month position, beginning salary level 29, employee benefits in accordance with Board policies.
EVALUATION
Performance to be evaluated in accordance with Board Policy on the evaluation of support personnel.
