Job Description
Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a real impact in students' lives this summer by supporting learners as a Paraprofessional in a welcoming K-12 school environment near Berkeley, CA. Schools seek dedicated, compassionate team players who are ready to assist students with a wide range of needs throughout their Extended School Year (ESY) programs. This contract position runs from June 15 to July 17, with varying schedules depending on grade level and program—see details below. Qualifications (varies by position): Associate's Degree or higher, or 48 college units and a high school diploma, or passing score on CBEST/instructional aide exam with a high school diploma. Willingness to assist with all student needs including toileting, feeding, mobility, and health-related procedures. Relevant certifications and training, such as CPR/First Aid, emergency medication training, health care procedure modules, sign language, and vision-impaired coursework are highly valued—please submit proof of qualifications and any additional licensure you hold.
For some assignments:
experience with behavioral support, physical endurance (up to 5 hours standing), sign language fluency, knowledge in Braille, or possession of a California Vocational Nurse License. Ability to collaborate effectively and maintain flexibility in assignments.Core Responsibilities:
Offer consistent, hands-on support to students in classroom and community settings. Carry out specialized care, feeding, hygiene, and medical routines as required by individual students. Communicate effectively with teachers, therapists, and administrators to ensure student well-being and engagement. Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment for all.Program Schedules:
