Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by supporting their educational and care needs as a dedicated paraprofessional. This contract position offers opportunities across Pre-K, elementary, middle, or high-school settings near Daly City, CA. You'll collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, and support staff, adapting daily to support diverse student requirements—including academic, behavioral, and specialized physical care tasks.
Qualifications:
One of the following: Associate's degree or higher, 48+ college units and a high school diploma, passing score on the CBEST and high school diploma, or passing score on the instructional aide exam with high school diploma. Additional certifications/experience such as annual anti-seizure medication training, current CPR/First Aid, specialized health care skills (gastrostomy care, blood glucose testing, nebulizer use), direct experience with social-emotional/behavioral needs, or fluency in sign language/Braille are highly valued—please highlight in your application. Must be adaptable and prepared to assist with all aspects of student care, including toileting, feeding, mobility, and health-related procedures. Ability to stand for long periods and willingness to work where assigned. Demonstrated team-player attitude is essential; flexibility and professionalism are non-negotiable.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver one-on-one and small group support to students with varied educational and physical needs. Carry out individualized education and care plans precisely as directed by school staff. Assist with daily tasks including personal care, behavior support, communication, and health interventions.
Bus Aides:
travel with students to/from home and school, ensuring their well-being throughout transit and the school day.
Assignment Hours:
Pre-K:
4.5 hrs/day, 22.5/week
Elementary:
5.5 hrs/day, 27.5/week
Middle/High:
6.5 hrs/day, 32.5/week
Bus Aides:
