25 Per Hour Add'l Salary Info 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR Length of Work Year 188 Employment Type Part Time Job Summary Job Summary The Behavior Intervention Assistant (BIA) supports students in achieving behavioral, social, and academic success through individualized and small-group interventions.
Under the supervision of the School Counselor, Education Specialist, or Administrator, the BIA assists in implementing behavior support plans, data collection, and proactive behavior management strategies consistent with the school's Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework.

Key Responsibilities:
Implement and support behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and other individualized supports under the direction of certificated staff.
Reinforce positive student behaviors and provide guidance to help students develop appropriate social skills.
Supervise and support students in classroom and non-classroom settings (e.g., playground, cafeteria, transitions).
Assist with crisis prevention and intervention following school safety and behavioral procedures.
Collect and maintain accurate behavioral data and documentation.
Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and support staff to monitor student progress.
Support implementation of PBIS and restorative practices across the school.
Participate in ongoing training related to behavior intervention and student support.

Qualifications Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or equivalent (AA or higher preferred).
Minimum one year of experience working with children, preferably in a school or behavioral support setting.
Knowledge of behavior management techniques and child development principles.
Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional under pressure.
Preferred:
Experience implementing ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) strategies.
Experience working with students with special needs or behavioral challenges.
Knowledge of PBIS, restorative practices, or behavior management techniques.
