Caregiver Job Description:

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as In-Home Caregivers. The role involves providing full-time care for an autistic adult male in a private family setting. The individual is nonverbal and requires assistance with daily tasks, supervision, and behavior management. The family is highly involved and seeks someone who can collaborate with them to ensure the best possible care.

Caregiver Key Responsibilities:

Maintain a clean, organized, and well-supplied home environment; housekeeping and maintaining cleanliness are a significant part of the role. Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, and toileting. Implement and follow behavior management strategies to manage aggressive or challenging behaviors. Use appropriate communication techniques tailored to nonverbal individuals. Support physical activities and exercises as part of the daily routine. Prepare and serve nutritious meals that meet specific dietary needs. Provide medication at required times. Uphold resident rights and dignity at all times.

Caregiver Requirements:

Experience in caregiving for individuals with autism, particularly those who are nonverbal and have behavioral challenges. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Ability to drive to client locations as needed. Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations with patience and empathy.
