Mental Health Worker/Resident Aid - Full time Behavioral Health Lompoc, CA Description Position at Lompoc Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center Mental Health Worker/Resident Aid - Full time Lompoc Skilled Nursing and Rehab, Lompoc, CA
Wage:
$22-24 per hour. We are seeking a compassionate Mental Health Worker/Resident Aid to provide essential support and care to individuals struggling with mental health challenges in a supportive, dynamic environment. Reinforce appropriate behavior, coping skills, support residents to overcome personal barriers, complete weekly evaluations (identifying short-term goals for the next week), record in-unit and group observations, assign points, and assist all in-unit staff. No experience? We will train motivated and teachable, candidate in basic group facilitation, mini-caseload check-in and weekly evaluations.
Key Responsibilities:
Escort clients timely to groups and record participation ensuring that groups maintain a 1:6 ratio. Facilitate groups and activities as assigned. Lead MHW discussions as assigned. Lead community meeting daily. Record client group participation on tracking calendar. Pass out and collect tracking calendar weekly. Total tracking calendar weekly and log into medical record. Encourage client attendance to groups and participation. Ensure and assist clients to complete forms properly and timely. Documents interventions and interactions with client in the medical record. Report change in behavior to charge nurse and Program Counselor.
Requirements:
Shall have at least 6 months job experience in a similar health facility (SNF, ALF or Hospital setting). Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public. Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents. Must not pose a direct threat to the health and/or safety of other individuals in the workplace. This position requires the successful completion of a background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screening as part of the hiring process.
