They assist the Classroom Behavior Specialists during social-emotional learning (SEL) lessons. They provide active supervision on the playground during lunch and recess. They support students in the classroom during the Classroom Behavior Specialists' breaks. Assistant Behavior Specialists help maintain a positive, supportive environment by implementing the school's behavior support strategies, monitoring student engagement, and ensuring smooth transitions. They work closely with the Classroom Behavior Specialists, teachers, and the Director of Behavior to foster students' social, emotional, and academic success.

Responsibilities:

Implement the School's behavioral support systems and strategies across multiple environments (i.e., classroom, playground, field trips). Ensure that the strategies are tailored for each student, working with the Classroom Behavior Specialist to understand the student's underlying needs and behavioral challenges. Maintain performance metrics for students' Success Plans. Evaluate students' progress and assist in preparing quarterly individual student achievement reports for parents and administration. Effectively communicate with staff, parents, students, and community members in a way that model's teamwork, encourages cooperative interaction among employees, supports collaboration, and promotes a high level of open and honest communication. Express oneself clearly and confidently orally and in writing. Maintain a workable level of organization and preparation for the classroom as well as for meetings, presentations, and events. Perform other duties, as deemed appropriate, by the Director of Behavior.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

An ability to actively play with kids, and to stand, walk, sit, squat, bend and kneel. An ability to stay calm and focused when challenging behaviors occur. An ability to think quickly on one's feet to analyze the possible cause and function of a behavior and the best intervention in the moment. A sense of humor, genuine love for children, and deep appreciation for our students. An ability to make a genuine connection with each student. An ability to collaborate and connect with other members of staff. An ability to conduct oneself in a way that maintains the integrity of the position and the School. Qualifications:

3+ years experience working with children with behavioral challenges 1+ year experience with Applied Behavior Analysis Background in grades K
