$75.00 per group Position Overview Threshold to Recovery is seeking a credentialed Qualified Behavioral Health Assistant (QBHA) to provide community-based recovery support services to male and female clients in Aurora, CO. The QBHA role is not a clinical position. It is a paraprofessional community support role focused on equipping individuals in recovery with the practical life skills, employment supports, and daily living tools they need to build stable, sustainable lives. The QBHA will facilitate life skills and employment support groups, provide individual support sessions, and walk alongside clients in practical areas such as job searching, budgeting, and workforce readiness. Schedule is flexible and will vary based on client load and program need. Role Clarification This is a paraprofessional community support role, not a clinical position. The QBHA does not provide therapy, counseling, clinical assessments, or any service requiring licensure. Services are limited to life skills coaching, employment support, and community-based recovery support as defined within the Colorado QBHA scope of practice. Key Responsibilities Facilitate life skills and employment support groups for male and female clients (approximately 2-4 per week), covering topics such as budgeting, job readiness, workplace communication, and community integration Provide individual support sessions to clients working on practical recovery goals including employment, financial stability, and independent living skills Assist clients with job searching, resume building, application processes, and identifying employment opportunities in the Aurora area Support clients in developing budgeting skills, understanding financial tools, and navigating basic financial responsibilities Connect clients with community resources, continued employment supports, and vocational services as appropriate Collaborate with Threshold staff to coordinate services and ensure clients receive consistent, wrap-around support Maintain accurate, timely documentation of services in compliance with program, state, and federal standards Maintain strict confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 (Substance Use Disorder Confidentiality) Transport clients as needed using a personal vehicle or company van in accordance with program policy Participate in required supervision, team meetings, and program trainings Required Qualifications Current, valid Colorado Qualified Behavioral Health Assistant (QBHA) credential — must be in good standing at time of hire and maintained throughout the duration of the contract Valid Colorado driver's license with a clean driving record Reliable personal transportation for travel to client locations and program sites in Aurora, CO Demonstrated ability to qualify for and maintain coverage under Threshold to Recovery's corporate vehicle insurance policy (required for use of company van) Ability to work with both male and female clients in a professional, supportive capacity Working knowledge of life skills domains including employment, budgeting, financial literacy, and independent living Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with individuals in early and ongoing recovery Ability to maintain professional boundaries and operate clearly within the QBHA scope of practice Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting individuals in recovery in a community-based, residential, or workforce development setting Familiarity with Aurora, CO employment resources, workforce centers, and community support services Experience facilitating life skills, employment readiness, or financial literacy groups or workshops Knowledge of trauma-informed care and recovery-oriented systems of support Lived experience with substance use disorder and personal recovery (valued but not required) Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus Supervision The QBHA will receive regular program supervision from a designated Threshold to Recovery supervisor. Supervision will focus on service delivery, documentation, and professional development within the QBHA scope of practice. Supervision frequency and format will be outlined in the contractor agreement. Compensation In compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (C.R.S. § 8-5-101 et seq.), the compensation for this position is disclosed as follows: Individual support sessions: $20.00 per session Group facilitation: $75.00 per group Schedule and session volume will vary based on program need. This compensation structure is fixed for this independent contractor role. Independent Contractor Status This is an independent contractor (1099) position. The QBHA will not be classified as an employee of Threshold to Recovery. Contractors are solely responsible for all applicable federal, state, and local tax obligations. This position does not include employee benefits, paid time off, unemployment insurance, or employment protections applicable to employees under Colorado or federal law. All contractors must maintain a valid QBHA credential, a valid Colorado driver's license, personal vehicle insurance, and the ability to qualify for Threshold to Recovery's corporate vehicle insurance policy throughout the duration of the contract.
