Full Job Description Key Responsibilities:
The Assistant Site Director supports the Site Director in maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive program environment. This role focuses on direct behavioral support, proactive student engagement, operational assistance, and timely communication and documentation. 1. Behavior Response & Intervention Respond promptly to teacher calls to pull students for behavioral issues (excluding Tier 1 and Tier 2 concerns). Address behavioral concerns or conflicts with children using established de-escalation strategies and program policies. Communicate same-day with the Site Coordinator and Student Support & Policy Director regarding incidents. Complete and submit incident reports by 6:00 PM on the day of the incident, ensuring accuracy and alignment with program expectations. 2. Preventative Student Engagement Lead bi-weekly community conversations on preventative topics such as boundaries, bullying, respect, and positive peer interactions. 3. Safety, Health & Supervision Monitor children's safety and overall well-being during program hours. Administer first aid as needed and follow all safety protocols. Maintain active DCPS Administration of Medication (AOM) certification. Administer medication to students in accordance with DC Health and DCPS guidelines, including emergency medications (e.g., epinephrine, albuterol), when required. Respond promptly and appropriately to student health needs and emergencies. 4. Parent Communication Address parent concerns or questions during pick-up in a professional and timely manner. Provide accurate updates on incidents and general student progress when appropriate. 5. Operational & Staffing Support Assist with overall program operations to ensure smooth daily execution. Serve as a substitute in classrooms when staffing gaps arise, maintaining ratio and program quality. Step in to support coverage needs proactively to minimize disruptions to students and staff.Qualifications:
Hold an Associate's degree in early childhood education or early childhood development OR similar education , with at least 3 years of supervised experience working with children in a licensed child development center (or equivalent), and commit to obtaining a Bachelor's degree within 6 years of hire.Pay:
