Job Description
The Assistant/Associate Professor in Dental Education (Biological and Behavioral Sciences) is responsible for delivering, integrating,and assessing foundational biomedical and behavioral science content within the predoctoral dental curriculum. This position supportsstudent development in biological principles, evidence-based decision-making, and social and behavioral competencies essential topatient-centered care in alignment with institutional goals and Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) standards. The facultymember collaborates with academic leadership, course directors, and clinical faculty to promote curriculum integration, student success,innovation in teaching, and continuous quality improvement throughout the dental education program. Key Responsibilities Deliver didactic, small-group, case-based, and interdisciplinary instruction in biomedical and behavioral sciences Support integration of biomedical and behavioral sciences with preclinical and clinical dental education Develop engaginglearning experiences that promote critical thinking, evidence-based practice, and lifelong learning Participate in curriculumplanning, course development, assessment, and continuous quality improvement initiatives Evaluate student performance andcontribute to academic assessment and program outcomes review Participate in simulation, preclinical, interprofessional, andcollaborative learning activities Provide student mentoring, advising, and support for academic and professional development Participate in faculty calibration, development, and educational innovation initiatives Engage in scholarly activity,research, presentations, and publication related to dental education or related disciplines Serve on institutional committees andcontribute to accreditation activities, service-learning, and community engagement
