Job Description

Mental Health Kokua (MHK) is hiring a Full-Time Senior Residential Assistant on Maui to support a community-based residential program serving adults building stability and independence. This role combines direct support, staff guidance, and daily operations to maintain a safe, structured living environment. As a Senior Residential Assistant, you will mentor residents in daily living skills while supporting Residential Assistants and helping ensure consistent, recovery-oriented care. This position plays a key role in maintaining structure, supporting progress, and reinforcing a respectful, home-like environment. What You ll Do (Responsibilities)
Staff Support & Training:
Assist with supervising Residential Assistants, scheduling, and on-the-job training
Mentoring & Daily Living Skills:
Support residents with routines such as cooking, budgeting, hygiene, and communication
Safety & Crisis Response:
Maintain a safe environment, respond to incidents, and document per policy
Household Operations:
Support daily operations including shopping, chores, and facility upkeep
Resident Supervision:
Monitor wellness, reinforce positive behaviors, and respond to challenges
Service Planning & Documentation:
Support resident goals and complete accurate, timely documentation
Medication Support:
Monitor self-administration of medications in accordance with program guidelines
Activities & Engagement:
Plan and support social, recreational, and community-based activities
Senior Residential Assistant Qualifications Minimum:
High school diploma or equivalent and experience in human services
Preferred:
Coursework in psychology, social work, human development, or related field; experience in residential or behavioral health settings
Skills:
Strong communication, mentorship, organization, and problem-solving skills; ability to support both residents and staff
Certifications:
CPR, First Aid, and TB clearance (or ability to obtain) Fit for the
