Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Certified Peer Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide peer support services to individuals with behavioral health challenges, offering guidance and assistance based on their own lived experiences.
Responsibilities:
  • Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to engage with clients and promote positive behavioral changes
  • Provide peer support services in various settings such as group sessions, one-on-one meetings, and community outreach programs
  • Assist individuals in developing coping strategies and setting achievable goals
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure a holistic approach to client care
  • Offer mentorship and advocacy to empower clients in their recovery journey
  • Conduct crisis interventions and provide emotional support during challenging times
Qualifications:
  • Certification as a Peer Specialist
  • Experience in social work, addiction counseling, mental health counseling, or related fields
  • Proficiency in crisis management and intervention techniques
  • Strong understanding of behavioral health issues and recovery principles
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse populations
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team and independently
  • Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others achieve wellness
Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of systems related to behavioral health services
  • Experience in crisis intervention and management
