Job Description

Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Life Skills Trainer to empower individuals with diverse needs to achieve greater independence and confidence in their daily lives. In this vital role, you will design and implement personalized training programs that foster essential life skills, including communication, self-care, social interaction, and community integration. Your enthusiasm and expertise will inspire positive growth and help individuals reach their full potential in a supportive environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you serve. Duties Develop tailored life skills training plans for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and other disabilities, focusing on areas such as self-care, social skills, and daily routines Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors Support clients during community outings, transportation, and recreational activities to enhance social integration Collect and document progress data regularly to monitor development and adjust training approaches accordingly Administer medication as prescribed and maintain accurate medication administration records in compliance with safety protocols Collaborate with families, caregivers, behavioral health professionals, and educators to ensure consistent support and communication Qualifications Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or behavioral health needs is highly preferred Knowledge of special education principles and behavior management techniques Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is a plus for effective communication with clients who are deaf or hard of hearing Strong communication skills to engage clients effectively and collaborate with team members Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for community outings and home visits Home & community care experience is desirable, especially assisting with ADLs and caregiving tasks Ability to collect accurate data, maintain detailed records, and follow safety protocols for medication administration Background in social work or related fields enhances your ability to support clients holistically Join us in making a lasting impact by helping individuals develop essential life skills that foster independence and confidence. Pay:
$60.00 - $75.00 per hour
