JOB TITLE
Learning Resources Assistant
JOB PURPOSE
To promote the Mission and Core Values of the British School international School of Chicago, Lincoln Park. To be an active member of the Dragonflies team in their support of learners at BISC-LP. To promote a love of learning throughout the school community in all classes in which they work.

OTHER KEY RELATIONSHIPS
Learning Assistants, Class teachers, specialist teachers Key Responsibilities ▪ To actively support an inclusive approach for all learners within the school ▪ To collaborate with the Learning Resources team to provide support for diverse learners. This may include individual and small group support, both within and outside of the classroom Additional Responsibilities ▪ To actively support an inclusive approach for all learners within the school ▪ To collaborate with classroom teachers and learning assistants to provide support for diverse learners ▪ To maintain positive relationships with all students, encouraging their social-emotional wellbeing and self-regulation ▪ Set and maintain consistently high expectations for behavior and positive learner attitudes ▪ Participate in planning, differentiation and assessment of learning activities with teachers, providing feedback on the student's progress ▪ Provide feedback to the student ▪ Share information about the student with other staff as appropriate ▪ Assist in the development and implementation of student support plans To coordinate and maintain the schedule for Student Therapy, liaising with families and therapists as necessary To provide other administrative support to the LR team, as required Personal Attributes ▪ Flexible ▪ Adaptable ▪ Strong communication skills ▪ Calm ▪ Well organized ▪ Discrete ▪ Positive ▪ Resourceful ▪ Willingness to learn Preferred Skills ▪ Experience of teaching phonics ▪ Knowledge of explicit reading strategies OTHER ▪ Each individual must ensure that they meet their statutory responsibilities and Company policies with regard to Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities and other relevant legislation ▪ A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils. ▪ Willingness to undertake appropriate child protection training when required
Pay:
$19.50 - $23.00 per hour
