The Manager of Student Mental Health ("Manager") provides coordination and support for principals on student mental health issues. The Manager supports individual principals in following OCS policy and crisis guidance. The Manager facilitates community referrals and resources to support the mental health of individual students. Responsibilities:
Working with the Directors of School Operations and the Director of SEL in navigating student mental health crisis Support principals in navigating student mental health crisis on the school and family level Mental health crisis might include: suicidal attempts and concerns, homicidal concerns, school refusal, chronic absenteeism, sexual problematic behaviors, student threats Collaborate with Director of SEL on revising and writing student crisis manual for all schools Work with principals to implement procedures in the Administrator's Manual for Student Crisis Educate principals and school staff on student mental health issues and provide community referrals when needed Communicate with and report to the Director of SEL on school support and coordination Document supports and coordination for schools Provide or organize training for counselors at system-wide professional development days Participate and facilitate leadership of the OCS Crisis Support Team Document Crisis Support Team on-site response Follow up with principals after Crisis Support Teams' on-site response
Requirements:
Master's Level Social Worker or Counseling Required 5-10 years' Experience in administrative support for student mental health Familiarity with school counseling and social work best practices Familiarity in navigating mental health supports for students in Chicagoland area Experience navigating behavioral and/or mental health issues with PreK-8 grade students. This position has an annualized salary range of - $85,207.64 - $108,639.74. An employee's pay within the salary range will be based on many factors including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
