JOB DESCRIPTION
The Special Services Behavior Assistant provides direct behavioral support and intervention for students who demonstrate challenging, socially inappropriate, or unsafe behaviors in the classroom. The role focuses on helping students develop self-regulation, coping strategies, and socially appropriate behaviors to support success in their current educational setting. Responsibilities may include conducting behavioral assessments, implementing evidence-based behavioral interventions, providing direct instruction on social and emotional skills, and collaborating with teachers and staff to create supportive learning environments. This position primarily serves students in the special education population, while also supporting general education students as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
(STUDENTS) : Understand the fundamentals of behavior management Apply and implement behavior management principles with respect to specific students in a nonviolent crisis intervention and prevention approach Review student records, as directed by Special Sducation Sirector(s) or Principal Conduct informal assessment under the direction and supervision of Special Education Director or Principal Provide input in the development of Individual Behavior Plans Provide instructional support in educational areas under direction of Special Education Director or Principal Participate in all required training as requested and any additional appropriate training
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
(STAFF): Develop and maintain positive professional relationships with staff Collaborate with general and special education teachers, regarding students, including the implementation of Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) Work cooperatively with other related services staff Communicate on a regular basis with Special Education Director and Principal
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

EDUCATION SUPPORT
): Implement all recommendations regarding interventions and strategies Report all concerns in a timely manner Maintain appropriate regarding of behavioral data under the direction and supervision of Special Education Director and Principal
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
(PROFESSIONALISM): Maintain good attendance. Be punctual. Complete all job duties assigned. Dress appropriately. Observe measures of confidentiality.
