Job Description

NP Psych opening in Gloucester, MA - Coastal Massachusetts; 35 miles from Boston Position Details FT, permanent Behavioral Services is looking for an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) for the Gloucester Clinic. The APRN will provide direct outpatient psychiatric services through comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, counseling, and psychopharmacological treatment of assigned patients. The APRN will also function as a member of a multidisciplinary team to provide the best possible care for all patients. The ideal candidate will have successfully completed all educational and certification requirements to practice as an APRN for psychiatric care in the state of MA. Maintenance of current APRN MA license, DEA, and State of MA for controlled substances is required. The ideal candidate will also possess knowledge of the standard principles and practices of diagnosing and treating (via psychotherapy and psychopharmacology) of mental disorders described in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM); also, keeps current with developments in psychiatry via the literature, conferences, Internet, etc. Motivation to prescribe psychopharmacological medications carefully with the aim of maximizing patient benefit while avoiding/minimizing adverse effects and untoward drug interactions is a must. The APRN should also have outstanding planning and implementation skills, a strategic approach to problem-solving, a strong working knowledge of data-reporting and analysis skills, and sound interpersonal skills.
