Executive Clinical DirectorPosition Summary:
The Group Assistant provides behavioral, emotional, and social support to youth with social-emotional and behavioral health needs within a structured therapeutic group setting. This position supports the facilitation of group activities designed to promote emotional regulation, social skills development, positive peer interaction, and coping skill acquisition. The ideal candidate is patient, consistent, and skilled in supporting youth in maintaining engagement within a trauma-informed, strength-based environment.Duties and Responsibilities:
The Group Assistant is responsible for supporting a safe, structured, and therapeutically supportive group environment. This includes assisting with behavior management, providing redirection and de-escalation support, and reinforcing coping and self-regulation strategies during group activities. The role involves collaborating with clinical staff to support treatment goals, assisting with facilitation of skill-building and recreational activities, and modeling appropriate social interaction and emotional regulation. Additional responsibilities include supporting transitions, maintaining group structure, and documenting behavioral observations as directed by supervisory staff.Essential Functions:
Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive group environment for youth participants. Assist in managing group behavior through redirection, positive reinforcement, and de-escalation strategies. Collaborate with clinical and program staff to support youth as needed within group settings. Model appropriate communication, coping skills, and emotional regulation. Support daily programming activities, transitions, and group engagement. Complete and communicate behavioral observations in accordance with program standards.QualificationsEducation:
High school diploma requiredExperience:
Experience working with youth in behavioral health, educational, or therapeutic settings preferred.Knowledge of trauma-informed care, positive behavior support, and adolescent development preferred.
Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm in emotionally escalated situations.
