00/hour (depending on experience) About the Role We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate Certified Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) for the upcoming school year. In this role, you will provide full-time, 1:1 support for a preschool student attending a wonderful outdoor-based program in Cape Elizabeth. Your presence will ensure the child has the guidance, structure, and encouragement needed to fully participate and thrive in their daily school environment. Because this is an outdoor-centric program, the ideal candidate is someone who loves nature, is comfortable being active outside in various weather conditions, and understands the unique, hands-on dynamics of experiential learning. What You Will Do Provide continuous, one-on-one support to help the child safely navigate the school day, engage with the curriculum, and interact with peers. Implement supportive strategies to promote positive behavior, social skill development, and emotional regulation. Collaborate closely with the lead teachers and preschool staff to maintain an inclusive and supportive classroom environment. Maintain a patient, engaging, and encouraging presence throughout all daily activities.
Qualifications Certification:
Active Maine Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) certification is required.
Experience:
Prior experience working with preschool-aged children in an educational, behavioral health, or specialized childcare setting.
Mindset:
Empathetic, resilient, and highly observant, with a genuine passion for early childhood development.
Environment:
Must be enthusiastic about spending the majority of the school day outdoors.
