Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated team as a Shelter Staff member and be a vital part of providing safe, supportive, and nurturing environments for individuals experiencing homelessness or crisis. In this role, you will be the frontline responder, ensuring the well-being of residents through compassionate care, effective crisis intervention, and diligent safety protocols. Your energy and commitment will help transform lives by offering stability, guidance, and hope to those in need. Responsibilities Supervise daily shelter operations, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all residents Conduct intake assessments to gather essential information and determine immediate needs Provide crisis intervention support during emergencies or behavioral incidents with calmness and professionalism Foster a nurturing atmosphere for families Manage security protocols by monitoring entrances/exits, conducting patrols, and maintaining safety standards Support behavioral health initiatives through behavior management strategies and behavioral health referrals Document resident interactions accurately through data entry, filing, and case management records Administer medication as prescribed following proper procedures and documentation standards Facilitate conflict management among residents using effective communication skills and de-escalation techniques Collaborate with social workers, addiction counselors, and community resources to develop individualized care plans Maintain cleanliness and organization of shelter spaces in compliance with safety regulations Experience Experience in social services, residential settings, or related environments preferred Strong background in crisis intervention, conflict management, and behavioral health support Knowledge of home & community care experience highly valued Familiarity with data collection, data entry, filing systems, and medication administration procedures Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, staff, emergency responders, and community partners First aid certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire is required Experience working within behavioral health or social work fields is advantageous Join us in making a difference! Pay:
$15.10 - $16.00 per hour
