Job Description
Job Description The Michigan Department of Corrections is proud to be a Michigan Veteran's Affairs Agency (MVAA) Gold Level Veteran Friendly Employer. Planning management, coordination, and control of all mental health programs located in correctional facilities within the Southwestern Region, which includes DRF, IBC, ICF, JCF, JCS, LCF, MTU, RGC, and SMT. Management functions include integration of mental health services in correctional facilities, working closely with Health Care Services and Correctional Facilities Administration to provide quality and flexible response to changing needs of stakeholders and prisoners. Functions as a member of the Warden's Management Team, Mental Health Services Management Team and participates/advises on procedures and policy changes. Required Education and Experience Education Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major. Experience Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level. Alternate Education and Experience Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level; or, one year of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements. you do not need to fill out the form) New hires to the MDOC along with previous MDOC employees that are returning after being away from the department for more than two years will complete Non-Custody New Employee Training (NCNET) either 40 hours or 80 hours of initial in-person training based on their level of offender contact and job classification. All new employees will complete additional online training to successfully complete their non-custody new employee training.
